HVAC Construction Senior Project Manager (8 + Years Exp.) 

JCM Associates is seeking is seeking an experienced HVAC/Plumbing Senior Project Manager for projects up to $35M. As a manager at JCM, your role as a leader will include all aspects of managing both the business and field aspects of a project, from project kick-off, to final commissioning and close-out.

Qualified candidates will "own" their projects from beginning to end, and are supported by several teams (estimation, purchasing, fabrication, coordination, accounting, project executives, and senior level staff).   • Coordinate and actively manage all project related activities including:
  • Material, equipment and sub-contractor scheduling
  • Study and comprehend all contract documents including drawings, specifications, schedules, submittals, schematics, and codes.
  • Proactively identify issues that could lead to problems and facilitate solutions
  • Attend in office and/or off-site meetings
  • Manage equipment procurement, storage, rigging, and logistics processes.
  • Schedule and supervise all installation, coordination, fabrication and start-up on assigned projects.
  • Collaborate with field labor supervision to plan, organize and schedule project work that coincides with the construction schedule.
  • Manage Sheetmetal, ATC, Balancing, Insulation and other specialty subcontractors.
  • Coordinate and Assist Drafting Department in all aspects of BIM coordination, attend meetings and process submissions.
  • Perform job cost tracking and forecasting for final project costs.
  • Manage all aspects of the change orders. Estimate, submit, and receive timely approvals.
  • Responsible for asset management including collections, cost control, progress billings and payables.
  • Perform monthly cost to complete analysis and reporting status to management.
  • Maintain a professional rapport with architects, engineers, building owners, subcontractors, installers and suppliers.
  • Adhere to safety best practices
  • Provides high quality written communications. Ensure project document controls follow contract requirements and JCM's standards.
  • Use negotiation skills to consistently resolve disputes.
  • Document and manage the project closeout process to assure timely completion
  • Mentoring and Guiding Assistant Managers
  • Managing Multiple Projects and Supervising/Mentoring Project Managers.

This is a brief summary description of the duties associated with the position, however, there may be other duties required and assigned by the Senior Executive/VP of this position as deemed appropriate for the role.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • 8 + years of project management experience managing HVAC and/or Plumbing projects.
  • Competent understanding of HVAC and Plumbing Systems.
  • Strong decision-making, problem solving, resource allocation and planning skills/experience
  • Develop a working knowledge of labor allocation, planning, management, critical path scheduling, safety, permits, change orders
  • Must possess strong analytical and conflict management skills and the ability to trouble shoot issues
  • Working knowledge of HVAC Systems, Plumbing Systems, and management of Sheetmetal, control, insulation, and balancing subcontractors.
  • Skilled at establishing and working collaboratively in a fast paced, dynamic team environment with multiple priorities.
  • Proven success in project management, with the ability to demonstrate past individual and team achievements.
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • MS Office proficiency: Word, Excel, Outlook
  • MS Project a plus.
